Hosted in an old open air movie theater dating back to the turkish era, in the historical part of central Limassol, Cinéma is bringing life back to the aged space by offering distinctive drinking and dining experiences along with state of the art 3d mapping projections. With a focus on fresh & seasonal ingredients, speciality cocktails & impeccable spirits, the newly opened cocktail bar is rapidly becoming the place to be!
The client, working within the bar & restaurant industry for nearly 10 years, had a very clear vision of what the essence of the bar had to be like. He wanted a space that was playful and where people would feel comfortable and relaxed. In addition he asked for a natural feel for all the materials, since it was important for him that the space didn’t feel artificial. Finally another element to consider, was to try and preserve some elements from the old cinema, such as the old screen wall.
Having in mind the needs of our client, we knew it was important to use high quality materials and focus on simplicity. To make the space feel earthy, we adopted nature and greenery all around the space, since the bar and its surroundings, mainly consisted of concrete. In addition, in order to achieve the playfulness element, we decided to offer different types of seating that would also create levels within the bar.
Moreover, we selected a limited range of natural materials, that were repeated throughout the space. We used a combination of natural woods such as solid beech wood and acacia wood, along with black metal, concrete and a terrazzo like ceramic that was used across all the areas of the space. Most of the elements within this outdoor space were custom made to fit the scope of the project.
This is the ideal hospitality project to showcases Command’s expertise, since we provided branding services that went hand in hand with the design of the space and the whole concept evolved innately.
